Just saw I was tagged..ya, I know, its a bit late
Better late that never, so heres 7 things about me :)
1. Beading for me started with a box of almost 25 year old plastic beads. Someone found this box of beads in our grandparents house and mummy had the diary in which she had written the instructions for a beaded purse some 25 years back. We spent months trying to decipher the instructions - and one day mummy got it!! we finished half the purse together, me working evenings and mummy during the day and then somehow, it got laid aside..2 years later, after mummy died, i found the half done purse and finished it. I was googling to find out if any one else makes purses the same way we did (which I couldn't by the way, seems to be some variation of a bead weaving stitch, maybe RAW? ) - and the rest is history...
2. Mummy used to sew from a very young age..she used to try to pester me to learn sewing-i thought i was no good at anything with my hands...in the last one year - ive learnt beadweaving, bead embroidery, made beaded flowers, crocheted, fabric painted, learnt to use grandmas 30+ year old sewing machine...life is unpredictable :)
3. I HATED the needlework classes i had a chance to learn - sewing at one school, knitting at another. Me & the knitting teacher were on very very bad terms. :D Same for games :)
4.I used to read and read and read....we bought very less books when I was a kid...all the books were from libraries..one day I dream of owning a huge library..I even have a list of books ready and bought 3 books this year :)
5. some days are very very depressing as I prepare for a fight aganist certain "things" - I know I am doing the right thing - but somedays I am scared of the pain it may cause - hope & pray everything turns out ok.
6. 24 years of indoctrination - I still didn't get rid of my "secular" mind :D - no matter what I can't get my mind to accept anyone who says "OURS is the way that GOD says - everyone else is going to hell - or atleast a lower place than us".
7. i work as a software engineer - i love the "problem-solving" work - hate some of the other things about it- and wonder if teaching will suit me :)
